In 2011, the Carlsbad Cavemen finished there season with an overall record of 8-3 and with 1-1 in 4-5a district play. In the process they also qualified for the New Mexico Class 5A State Playoffs for the second year in a row. Head Ron Arrrington will begin his sixth season at the helm of the Cavemen and it is apparent that he has turned that program into a playoff contender for seasons to come. Carlsbad will return ten lettermen in 2012. Five of them on offense and five on defense. Key players returning for the Cavemen are Rodney Holcomb on offense and Bobby Mallett on defense. The quarterback position will be very strong for the Cavemen. They run a spread offense and you can always count on Carlsbad having a strong defense. Coach Arrington has done a remarkable job at Carlsbad and is a class act. Look for the Carlsbad Cavemen to be a playoff contender again.
