In 2011, the Artesia Bulldogs overall record was 6-6 and their District 4AAAA record was 1-1. The Bulldogs are led by Head Coach Cooper Henderson who has been a head coach for twenty nine years in which twenty four of those have been at the helm of the Artesia football program. Coach Henderson will head into the 2012 season with a record of 257-91-1.
Artesia will return twenty three lettermen for the 2012 season. Key players returning are Alex Donaghe (OT), Zeke Montoya (RB), Weston Leonard (SLOT), Miguel Rodriquez (WR), Daniel Salinas (DL), Josh Gonzales (DB), and Aldo Rayos (DB). Coach Henderson says “We are optimistic about the competitiveness and teamwork of the 2012 Bulldogs. Our success will depend on the self improvement each week of the season”.
The Artesia Bulldogs will always be a powerhouse regardless of classification in the New Mexico football ranks. You know exactly what they are going to throw at you offensively. The problem is STOPPING IT. The coaching staff coaches the player’s up from the time the game starts till it ends and they teach strong technique in all facets of the game.
