The 2011 edition of the Seminole Indians finished the season with an overall record of 11-2 and 4-0 in a very strong 4AAA district in Texas.  This same Indian team advanced to the Texas Class AAA Division 1 State Quarterfinals.  Going into 2012, the Seminole Indians under the leadership of Head Coach Chris Burtch knows that the  tradition has been set and expectations are high .  Coach Burcht has been a head coach for seventeen years and has an overall record of     105-87.  He is beginning his nineth year at the helm of the Indians program with a 57-38 record and a 27-7 record in district play.

     The Seminole Indians return fourteen lettermen.  Four returning starters on offense and one starter on defense.  Four of those players are returning all district players.  Those players are Dexter Longley (DL), Jacob Burtch (QB/Offensive MVP), Andy Luna (OL), and Addison Parum (DB).  Coach Burtch says “The tradition has been set.  We expect to be playing for a district championship and a deep run in the playoffs.  We lost a great senior class, but fully expect to have another great group take their place.  We will have to replace the defensive side of the ball, but playing time from last year’s season will allow new starters to grow up quickly.  We return three individuals in the secondary that have had starting experience.  All of our linebacking core will be young, but very talented.  Our defensive front may be the fastest we have ever put on the field, but they will need to mature very quickly.  We are very experienced on the offensive line returning four players that have had starting experience.  We are solid at the quarterback position and he will need to make huge contributions this year as well.  A running back will need to step forward and claim the role of our go to ball carrier.  The receiving core returns a lot of experience, but no starters”. 

     As you can see the Seminole Indians strength will be tradition and leadership.  There weakness is team speed and depth.  Expect 2012 to be an exciting year of football at Seminole High School.  Coach Burtch is a great coach, who sets the bar high.  Expect nothing but great things from the Seminole Indians.
